Facilitation List of Options

This is simply a guide to the more commonly used facilities. You are always recommended to ask a disabled member what they need and make provisions.

Induction Loop

Can be permanent feature or can hire system.

Signers

Two Options. Check with member which sign language they require can hire signers but make sure that they are qualified.

Check word-processing language is compatible and that paragraphs marked makes it easier to access.

Large print

16 point Century Gothic recommended for majority of visually impaired users. Use white or pale yellow paper.

Help with carrying bags etc

Advising on layout of building

Selecting food

Carrying coffee/tea

General advice on Facilities/ Conduct at Meetings

Avoid hand votes; however, if required provide assistance. Chairperson should always check before taking hand votes.

Private room allocated and notified to users to enable medication to be taken in private.
