the Team
The Bargaining and Campaigns Team brings together UNISON Scotland
staff who provide specialist support services to the organisation - these include bargaining, equalities, legal,
communications and policy.
Our mission is to:
- Provide high quality advice and support to members, branches
and staff
- Support, develop and promote UNISON Scotland's key bargaining
and policy objectives
- Organise the transfer of knowledge within UNISON Scotland
quickly and efficiently
- Produce accurate and relevant information in a comprehensible
format
Our main functions are:
- Legal advice and assistance including liaison with Thompsons Scotland
- Equalities including support to all self organised groups
- Communications including media relations, publications, web and social media
- Organise and promote UNISON campaigns
- Bargaining support including briefings, drafting claims etc
- Policy support including briefings, research, policy development etc
- Government affairs functions including promoting UNISON policy to all political parties
- Parliamentary monitoring including legislation, consultation responses, evidence etc
- UNISON Labour Link, Labour Party liaison and organisation
- Manage information centre, publications etc
- Environmental scanning, identify cross cutting issues etc
- Staff and activist training on the above
