Bring back FE national bargaining

The STUC backed calls for a return to national bargaining in the Further Education sector and laid down a marker that it would not accept top-up fees in Scotland.

Speaking in the Further and Higher Education debate, UNISON's Sheena Grant said, "Individual bargaining on pay and conditions with 43 colleges not only fragments the sector, it does nothing to improve best practice".

Sheena slammed the reluctance of the Association of Scottish Colleges to develop good practice across the sector. "This is especially worrying given the major issues around equal pay", she said.
