RESPONSES Development of Social Work Workforce
UNISON has responded to the Scottish Executive's Plan for
Action by calling for more union and service user involvement
as stakeholders, better training for support staff, more
resources, new HR strategies and an extension of Return
To Learn.
Call for Evidence - Early Years
UNISON's submission says a comprehensive and integrated
package of universal, affordable, early education, care
and parental leave could have significant economic and social
benefits for children and parents in Scotland.
It called on the Committee "to remove unnecessary
bureaucratic and legislative barriers in order to make early
years education and childcare provision in Scotland amongst
the best in Europe."
