How to follow us on Twitter

You can get regular updates from UNISON Scotland by following @unisonscot on twitter.

Getting updates to your phone if you don't have a free twitter account...

Text Follow @unisonscot to 86444 (only works for Vodafone, Orange, 3 and
O2 customers) and you will start receiving our Tweets on your device. (Just text Unfollow @unisonscot to stop following)

But better still get an account so you can tweet messages to us.....

From your computer (see below for signing up from your phone)

1. Go to http://twitter.com, enter your full name, email address, create a password and click the yellow button on the right hand of your screen, or simply navigate to https://twitter.com/signup.

2. Fill in the first field with your full name

3. Enter your email address.

4. Enter a password. Be tricky! Make sure your password contains letters, numbers, and symbols.

5. Select a username from one of the usernames they suggest or create your own.

6. You may be asked to complete a Captcha. Fill in the words that are shown to show that you're human!

How to follow UNISON Scotland

1. Go to Twitter and sign in
2. In the search box at top, type in unisonscot
3. In the green box top left, click 'follow'
4. To get alerts to your phone, click the little phone icon.

How To Add Your Phone To Your Twitter Account

1. Send a text to 86444 (Vodafone, Orange, 3 and O2 customers) with the word START.

2. Twitter will reply and ask you to sign up if you're new or reply with your username if you already have an account.

3. Send your username (do not send any additional characters in the message).

4. When Twitter asks for your password, carefully send your password (remember: passwords are case sensitive!).

5. Twitter will ask you to say OK if you want to use Twitter on your phone. Send OK, and you're all set! Now you can send messages to your Twitter code, and they will post as Tweets on your Twitter profile.

6. To get others' updates delivered to your phone now, you'll need to turn on mobile updates for those whose Tweets you wish to see on your phone. Until you do this, you will not receive any Tweets to your mobile phone.
