Government review of hospital car parking charges welcomed - UNISON
comment
UNISON, the healthcare union which announced a consultative ballot
on industrial action in NHS Glasgow and Clyde earlier this week,
said that they welcomed today's announcement of a review.
Matt McLaughlin, UNISON Regional Organiser for NHS Glasgow and
Clyde said "UNISON welcomes the Scottish Government's Review of
hospital car parking charges, and will look closely at the details
and how we can co-operate most effectively with this. Unfortunately,
as NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHS GGC) seem intent to push on
with their charging policy, we will need to continue with our consultative
ballot of staff affected.
"We would expect NHS GGC to abide by the outcome of any review,
and as they do not appear to be prepared to await that, to reimburse
any members who have to pay any unfair charges in the meantime."
