New discount for UNISON members on Open University Openings
courses
UNISON members can now get a 10% discount on all OU Openings
courses run between March 2011 and February 2012.
Openings courses are short, starter courses with lots
of support and no examinations, specifically designed
to give you a gentle introduction to a subject and the
world of studying with the OU.
Openings courses are ideal if you haven't studied before
or it's been a long time. They focus on developing your
study skills and confidence, offering ideal preparation
for further study.
You don't need any qualifications or experience to sign
up and just need to find approximately six hours of study
time per week over a maximum of 20 weeks.
You will receive help every step of the way from your
tutor who will provide personal one-to-one support. Subjects
include: arts, psychology, health, environment and understanding
society, (all at £195 - or £175.50 with discount, and
attracting 15 OU credit points).
Other subjects include children, law, maths, management
and sport online. (at £120, - or £108 with discount, and
worth 10 credit points).
To claim your discount you need to send a copy of your
UNISON membership card with your registration form and
the appropriate fee.
